Behaviour Support Assistant (SEMH)
Location: Westcliff-on-Sea
Salary: £93- £120 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time
Do you have the resilience, empathy and determination to help young people reach their full potential? GSL Education are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Westcliff-on-Sea.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them develop emotional regulation, improve engagement and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group behaviour support.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Use positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques.
- Support pupils through emotional regulation and crisis situations.
- Encourage attendance, engagement and independence.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working within SEMH, SEND, youth work, care or education.
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
- Calm, resilient and adaptable approach.
- Passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
