GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Colchester from September.
This is an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced HLTA to work across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, supporting teaching and learning throughout the school. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering interventions, covering lessons when required, and helping pupils achieve their full potential.

The Role
- Deliver planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Lead small group and whole-class interventions to raise pupil attainment.
- Work closely with teaching staff to support pupils of varying abilities and needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support pupil development.
The Ideal Candidate
- HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level.
- Previous experience working within a UK primary school.
- Confidence delivering lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting learning.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
