GSL Education are currently recruiting for a passionate, dedicated, and inspirational English Teacher to work across secondary schools in Goole and the surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to delivering high-quality English lessons and encouraging students to become confident readers, writers, and communicators. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on learners across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role:

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons that challenge and inspire students to achieve their full potential. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where learners can develop critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills.

Core Responsibilities of the English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Prepare learners for internal assessments and external examinations
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and foster a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student success

As the Ideal English Teacher, You Should Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities
  • A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach to teaching and learning

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
  • Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
