Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are inviting applications from Physical Education Teacher for thriving schools in Barnsley. We are looking for an energetic and committed educator who can deliver engaging lessons, encourage participation in physical activity, and inspire pupils to achieve their full potential both on and off the sports field.
The PE Teacher position offers an exciting opportunity to promote physical wellbeing, teamwork, and resilience while helping pupils develop a lifelong appreciation for sport and healthy living.
PE Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Encourage participation in a variety of sports and physical activities
- Promote teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles
- Assess pupil performance and provide constructive feedback to support progress
- Organise and supervise extracurricular sporting activities where required
- Maintain a safe learning environment by following health and safety procedures
PE Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Experience teaching Physical Education in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and a range of sporting activities
- Ability to motivate pupils of all abilities through engaging lessons
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
