Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branchare looking to appoint Computer Studies Teacher (CS) for amazing schools in Barnsley. We want an innovative and enthusiastic educator who can deliver engaging lessons, foster computational thinking, and prepare students with the digital knowledge and practical skills needed for the modern world.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to develop students' confidence in computing while equipping them with the technical and problem-solving skills required for future education and careers.

Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Teach topics including programming, computer systems, cyber security, and digital literacy
  • Encourage computational thinking and practical problem-solving through interactive learning
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes innovation and independent learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and departmental success

Computer Studies Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Computer Studies or Computing in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of computing principles and digital technologies
  • Ability to deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
