The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) will:

  • Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or have proven experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant within a Primary school.
  • Be confident delivering lessons and leading whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support teaching and learning across a range of year groups, adapting activities to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups to raise attainment and build pupil confidence.
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and the wider school team to ensure positive outcomes for every pupil.
