GSL Education are seeking an exceptional Math Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is an exciting opportunity to teach motivated learners in a supportive environment, with the potential to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a Math Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, creating a stimulating and inclusive classroom where pupils are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.

This role begins in September 2026 and requires candidates to be available to work 5 days per week. There is an excellent opportunity for the role to progress from temporary to permanent for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Mathematics lessons
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress
  • Prepare students for assessments and examinations
  • Establish high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management to create a positive learning environment
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team to support student success
  • Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
  • Previous experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Mathematics
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to motivate, engage, and inspire learners
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service – Essential
  • Available to work 5 days per week
