Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint a Physical Education Teacher for amazing schools in Sheffield. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated educator who can deliver engaging lessons, promote active participation, and encourage pupils to develop teamwork, resilience, and lifelong healthy habits.

The PE Teacher role offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils' physical development while fostering confidence, discipline, and a positive attitude towards sport and wellbeing.

PE Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Encourage participation across a wide range of sports and physical activities
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and healthy lifestyles
  • Assess pupil performance and provide constructive feedback to support progress
  • Organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities and school competitions where required
  • Maintain a safe learning environment by following health and safety procedures

PE Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Physical Education in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum and a variety of sporting activities
  • Ability to motivate pupils of all abilities to participate and achieve
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
