Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting Behaviour Support staff for welcoming schools in Sheffield. We are looking for calm, resilient, and compassionate individuals who can build positive relationships with pupils, promote constructive behaviour, and provide consistent support to help them succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
The Behaviour Support will have a rewarding opportunity to encourage pupils' emotional wellbeing while helping them develop confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes towards learning.
Responsibilities of Behaviour Support:
- Provide targeted support to pupils requiring behavioural and emotional guidance
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage active participation in learning
- Build trusting relationships that support pupils' progress and wellbeing
- Assist with behaviour intervention strategies and mentoring activities
- Help pupils develop resilience, self-management, and coping skills
- Work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a calm and supportive environment
Requirements for Behaviour Support:
- Experience supporting children or young people in a school setting
- Good understanding of behaviour management techniques and inclusive practice
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
