GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Teacher of RE to work across a range of forward-thinking and inclusive secondary schools in Scarborough. We are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dedicated educator who can deliver engaging Religious Education lessons while supporting students' spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.

Teacher of RE Role:

The successful Teacher of RE will deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to explore a range of religions, beliefs, and ethical issues. We are looking to recruit a Teacher of RE who can inspire thoughtful discussion, promote mutual respect, and create an inclusive classroom where every student feels valued and challenged.

Teacher of RE Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Encourage students to explore different faiths, beliefs, values, and ethical perspectives
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages discussion and critical thinking
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching, learning, and student wellbeing

Teacher of RE Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for promoting cultural awareness and critical thinking
  • A commitment to delivering inclusive, engaging, and high-quality teaching
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
