Are you a passionate and dedicated MFL Teacher looking to inspire students through the study of modern foreign languages?

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an MFL Teacher to work across a range of forward-thinking and inclusive secondary schools in York. We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed educator who can deliver engaging language lessons and encourage students to develop confidence in communicating across different cultures and languages.

MFL Teacher Role:

The successful MFL Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, teaching one or more modern foreign languages such as French, Spanish, or German. We are looking to recruit an MFL Teacher who can inspire students of all abilities, promote cultural awareness, and create an inclusive classroom where language learning is enjoyable and rewarding.

MFL Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Modern Foreign Languages lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teach one or more languages, including French, Spanish, or German, in line with the curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages language development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and student success

MFL Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge in French, Spanish, German, or another modern foreign language
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • A passion for language learning and a commitment to inspiring young people
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
