Salary Scale: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated English Teacher to work across secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas.

About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, creating engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication. You will foster an inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to express themselves and achieve their personal best.
Core Responsibilities of the English Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement
As the Ideal English Teacher, You Should Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to engage, challenge, and inspire learners of all abilities
- A collaborative, organised, and reflective approach to teaching
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
- Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
