Salary Scale: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently hiring a Science Teacher to work across a range of forward-thinking and high-achieving secondary schools in York. We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and committed educator who can deliver engaging Science lessons, promote curiosity, and support students in achieving their full academic potential.
Science Teacher Role:
The successful Science Teacher will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts through both theoretical and practical learning. We are looking to recruit a Science Teacher who can inspire learners of all abilities and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and achievement.
Science Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in line with the curriculum
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
- Differentiate teaching strategies to support students with a range of abilities and learning needs
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom and laboratory environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and student achievement
Science Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, or a specialist Science discipline
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- A passion for science education and a commitment to raising student achievement
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
