Salary Scale: £92 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Support Worker to work across a range of supportive and inclusive educational settings in York. We are looking for a caring, proactive, and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome challenges, develop independence, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Support Worker Role:
The successful Support Worker will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and school life. We are looking to recruit a Support Worker who is confident building positive relationships with young people, including those who may have SEND, SEMH, or other barriers to learning.
Support Worker Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and active participation in educational activities
- Support students with their social, emotional, and personal development throughout the school day
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement individual support strategies
- Monitor student wellbeing and communicate progress or concerns to relevant staff members
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all students
Support Worker Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals in an education, care, or support setting is desirable
- Knowledge of supporting individuals with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs is advantageous
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
