Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are working with vibrant schools in Sheffield to recruit an Early Years Practitioner. The ideal candidate will be able to create engaging learning experiences, support children's development, and contribute to a safe and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

The Early Years Practitioner (EYP) is going to focus on fostering children's social, emotional, physical, and educational development through creative and child-centred learning opportunities.

Responsibilities of EYP:

  • Help deliver activities that support children's early development
  • Observe children's development and contribute to progress records and assessments
  • Promote communication, creativity, and social interaction through play-based learning
  • Establish positive routines that support children's wellbeing and independence
  • Work with colleagues and families to support children's development
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for all children

Early Years Practitioner Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting is desirable
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Ability to build warm and positive relationships with young children
  • Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting early development
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
