Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Barnsley
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are seeking an Early Years Practitioner (EYP) to join supportive schools in Barnsley. We are interested in hearing from a caring and enthusiastic professional who can support children's early development, encourage curiosity, and help build strong foundations for future learning.
The EYP will have a rewarding opportunity to help children build confidence, develop essential life skills, and achieve important early learning milestones.
Responsibilities of Early Years Practitioner:
- Support the delivery of engaging activities that promote early learning and development
- Encourage children's communication, social interaction, and independence
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
- Observe and monitor progress, contributing to developmental records where required
- Work closely with colleagues and families to support children's individual needs
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through nurturing support
Requirements for Early Years Practitioner:
- Relevant Early Years qualification or equivalent is advantageous
- Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles
- Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences
- Strong observational skills and attention to developmental progress
- Positive, caring, and energetic approach to working with young children
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
