Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are inviting applications from Sports Coach to join welcoming schools in Sheffield. We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals who can use sport and physical activity to inspire pupils, promote positive behaviour, and encourage active participation in school life.

The Sports Coach role offers an excellent opportunity to use your coaching experience to support pupils' physical, social, and personal development within an educational setting.

Sports Coach Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging sports sessions that encourage teamwork, participation, and physical wellbeing
  • Provide classroom support to help students remain focused and engaged with learning
  • Adapt coaching and classroom activities to meet individual learning and behavioural needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour through consistent guidance and constructive reinforcement
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver effective pupil support
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and encouraging school environment

Sports Coach Requirements:

  • Experience in sports coaching, fitness instruction, or related activities is desirable
  • Ability to motivate and engage young people through practical sessions
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable approach to working with pupils
  • Commitment to promoting participation, wellbeing, and personal development
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
