Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) for amazing schools in Doncaster. We are seeking patient, compassionate, and dedicated individuals who can provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them engage confidently with learning and school life.

The Special Educational Needs TA is going to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development while helping them overcome barriers to learning.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with special educational needs
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil requirements
  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons
  • Work closely with teachers to implement personalised learning and support plans
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate observations with school staff
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable
  • Good understanding of a range of special educational needs and effective support strategies
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and positive educational outcomes
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
