Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Rotherham
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are working with well-established schools in Rotherham to recruit a Behaviour Support. We are seeking a confident and compassionate individual who can build positive relationships, encourage constructive behaviour, and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils' emotional wellbeing while helping them build resilience, self-confidence, and positive relationships within the school community.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students requiring behavioural and emotional guidance
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage active participation in learning
- Build trusting relationships that support student progress and wellbeing
- Assist with behaviour intervention plans and mentoring activities
- Help students develop coping strategies, resilience, and self-management skills
- Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a calm and supportive environment
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs is desirable
- Good understanding of behaviour management techniques and inclusive practice
- Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to challenging situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young people
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
