Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Worksop
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Are you ready to confidently lead a classroom and keep students engaged in learning when their teacher is absent?
GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are seeking a Cover Supervisor (CS) to join ambitious schools in Worksop. We are looking for a reliable and adaptable person who can take responsibility for classroom supervision, encourage positive behaviour, and support continuity of learning across a range of subjects.
The CS role offers valuable experience working directly with students while developing classroom leadership and behaviour management skills.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise lessons using work prepared by teaching staff
- Keep students focused, settled, and engaged during classroom activities
- Manage behaviour clearly and consistently throughout the lesson
- Provide basic guidance to students where appropriate
- Record attendance and report any concerns to relevant staff
- Maintain an orderly and positive classroom environment
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with young people is advantageous
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and confident in a classroom environment
- Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills
- Good awareness of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Flexible approach to working across different subjects and year groups
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
