GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and committed Teacher of Maths to work across secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who is dedicated to delivering high-quality Mathematics lessons and helping students develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on learners across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role:

As a Teacher of Maths, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that encourage logical thinking, resilience, and mathematical fluency. You will create an inclusive classroom environment where students are challenged, supported, and motivated to achieve their full potential.

Core Responsibilities of the Teacher of Maths:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and classroom engagement
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote excellent teaching and learning outcomes

As the Ideal Teacher of Maths, You Should Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young learners
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
  • A collaborative, reflective, and professional approach to teaching

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
  • Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
