Salary Scale: £92 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Are you a motivated and supportive Teaching Assistant looking to help young people achieve success both inside and outside the classroom?
GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work across a range of progressive and inclusive secondary schools in York. We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient, and dedicated support professional who is passionate about helping students overcome challenges, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Teaching Assistant Role:
The successful Teaching Assistant will provide valuable support to teachers and students, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment. We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant who is confident working with young people of varying abilities, including those who may require additional support to engage fully with their education.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the curriculum
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote student engagement in learning
- Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
- Support students with SEND, SEMH, or other barriers to learning where required
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student wellbeing and achievement
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, mentoring, or support setting is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting students' needs
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
