Contract: Temporary, Supply, Part-Time, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £92-£110 Per day (Depending on experience)
Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant looking to support young people in achieving their academic and personal potential?
GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work across a range of supportive and inclusive secondary schools in York. We are looking for a caring, proactive, and reliable support professional who is passionate about helping students engage with their learning and thrive in a positive educational environment.
Level 2 Teaching Assistant Role:
The successful Level 2 Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers to provide high-quality classroom support and targeted interventions for students who require additional guidance. We are looking to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting young people with a range of learning needs and can contribute positively to both their academic progress and personal development.
Level 2 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and effective classroom activities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs
- Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and active participation in lessons
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and support staff to promote student success
Level 2 Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in an educational setting is desirable
- Experience supporting children or young people within a school environment
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to supporting learning and behaviour
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
