Salary: £100 - £130 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education Newcastle are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Whitby.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, maintaining positive classroom behaviour, and supporting students in completing assigned work. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a flexible and rewarding role.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- Deliver pre-set lesson materials and ensure learning objectives are achieved.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Encourage students to stay focused and complete assigned work.
- Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
- Provide guidance and support to students where appropriate.
- Report on student behaviour, attendance, and lesson outcomes to teaching staff.
- Follow all school safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to lead a classroom confidently and professionally.
- Flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to work.
- A genuine interest in supporting students' learning and development.
- Degree-level qualification or relevant experience is advantageous.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
