Salary: £13 - £17 per hour (depending on experience)

GSL Education Newcastle are seeking dedicated Cleaners to work in schools across Hartlepool, helping to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming learning environments for students and staff.
The School Cleaner will play an important role in ensuring the school premises remain clean, hygienic, and well-presented throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone with excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and health and safety.
Responsibilities of a Cleaner:
- Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitise designated areas.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with school procedures.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines where applicable.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages to the appropriate staff.
- Work collaboratively with the site team to maintain a clean and safe school environment.
Requirements of a Cleaner:
- Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a school, commercial, or public setting.
- Good understanding of cleaning procedures and health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a positive attitude.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
