Location: Sheffield S5
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: September 2026

Are you passionate about helping primary-aged children build confidence and succeed in the classroom? A welcoming primary school in the Sheffield S5 area is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support professional to join their team from September 2026.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support (Primary), you will work closely with pupils who require additional guidance to manage their behaviour, emotions and engagement with learning. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping children develop positive routines, improve their confidence and make the most of their learning opportunities. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will play an important role in creating a calm and supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support for pupils.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation throughout the school day.

  • Work alongside teachers to support learning and classroom engagement.

  • Build positive relationships that help pupils feel safe and confident.

  • Help maintain a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.

  • Monitor pupil progress and share relevant observations with school staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Experience supporting behaviour in an educational or childcare setting is advantageous.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A patient, calm and resilient approach.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
