Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and keen to help students stay engaged with their learning? A welcoming secondary school in Worksop is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring lessons run smoothly using pre-prepared work. You will encourage positive behaviour, keep students focused on their learning, and create a calm classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to gain valuable school-based experience.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes using lesson plans prepared by teaching staff.

Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work set.

Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.

Provide guidance and encouragement while maintaining a positive atmosphere.

Record attendance and report any concerns to the appropriate members of staff.

Help create a safe, organised and productive learning environment.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Confidence managing groups of students independently.

A calm, adaptable and professional approach.

Good organisational skills and the ability to respond positively to changing situations.

A genuine commitment to supporting young people's education.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
