Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time
Start Date: September 2026

Are you ready to use your coaching experience to make a real difference in the classroom? A welcoming school in Rotherham is looking for a dedicated Sports Coach / Learning Support professional to join their team from September 2026.

About the Role:

This is a school-based classroom support role rather than a sports delivery position. As a Sports Coach / Learning Support professional, you will use the transferable skills gained through coaching—such as behaviour management, motivation, resilience and building positive relationships—to support pupils throughout the school day. You may work in Primary or Secondary classrooms, provide one-to-one or small group support, assist pupils with SEN, help manage behaviour, or provide cover supervision when required.

About the School:

This inclusive school is committed to creating a positive learning environment where every student is encouraged to succeed. Staff work collaboratively to provide excellent classroom support, strong pastoral care and tailored learning opportunities that help pupils develop both academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support for individual students and small groups.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.

  • Support pupils with additional learning or SEN needs where required.

  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.

  • Deliver cover supervision for classes when appropriate.

  • Help maintain a safe, organised and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience coaching sports or working with children and young people is desirable.

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

  • A patient, resilient and proactive approach.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • Confidence working as part of a school team.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people's learning and wellbeing.

If you are ready to make a positive difference and are interested in this opportunity, submit your CV today.
