Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident managing a classroom and keen to play an important role in students' education? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is seeking a dependable and motivated Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students stay focused and complete the work set for them. You will help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere, manage behaviour effectively, and support students in making the most of each lesson. This role is ideal for someone considering a career in education or anyone with previous experience working with young people.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes using pre-planned lesson materials provided by teaching staff.

Ensure students remain engaged and complete their assigned work.

Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with the school's policies.

Respond confidently to questions and provide appropriate guidance where needed.

Record attendance and report any concerns to relevant members of staff.

Help create a safe, organised and productive learning environment.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Confidence working independently with groups of students.

A calm, adaptable and professional approach.

Good organisational skills and the ability to respond effectively to different situations.

A genuine interest in supporting young people's education.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
