Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support for students who need additional help in the classroom. You will encourage confidence, promote engagement in learning, and provide both one-to-one and small group support to help pupils achieve their individual goals. Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs.

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

  • Encourage students to participate confidently in classroom activities.

  • Adapt support to meet individual learning requirements.

  • Help maintain a positive, safe and well-organised learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and share relevant feedback with teaching staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting students with their learning and development.

  • Experience in an educational or support setting is advantageous.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
