As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to explore English Language and Literature, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve their academic potential. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of supportive school environments, making a positive impact on learners of all abilities.

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress and achievement.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour, participation, and respect.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and wider school initiatives where appropriate.

English Teacher Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and English Literature.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
