GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teacher of PE to work across secondary schools in York and the surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver engaging Physical Education lessons that encourage participation, resilience, and personal achievement. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this role offers the chance to make a positive impact on students' physical wellbeing and personal development.

About the Role:

As a Teacher of Physical Education, you will deliver engaging and inclusive Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will encourage students to develop practical skills, improve their fitness, and embrace the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy living through a broad range of sporting activities.

As a Teacher of PE, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Promote participation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles through a variety of physical activities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support development
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and ensure safe practice during all activities
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and wider school life

As the Ideal Teacher of PE, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for sport and physical activity
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities
  • A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach to teaching and learning

To Work with GSL Education, you must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
  • Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
