Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are keen to appoint Computer Studies Teacher for thriving schools in Barnsley. We are looking for an innovative and dedicated teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, encourage computational thinking, and help students develop the digital skills needed for future success.
The CS Teacher is going to prepare students for an increasingly technology-driven world by developing their knowledge, creativity, and practical computing skills.
Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Teach topics including programming, computer systems, cyber security, and digital literacy
- Encourage students to develop logical thinking and practical computing skills
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
- Create an inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity, innovation, and independent learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and departmental development
Computer Studies Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Previous experience teaching Computer Studies or Computing
- Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical and theoretical lessons
- Ability to engage students through creative and interactive teaching approaches
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
