Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are looking to appoint Design and Technology Teacher for high-achieving schools in Barnsley. We are seeking a creative and committed educator who can deliver engaging lessons, develop practical skills, and encourage students to think critically while designing innovative solutions.
The Design and Technology Teacher role offers an exciting opportunity to equip students with valuable technical knowledge, creative thinking, and hands-on experience that prepares them for future study and careers.
D&T Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Develop students' practical, creative, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning
- Prepare and supervise workshop activities while maintaining high health and safety standards
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and innovation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning and departmental success
DT Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Previous experience teaching Design and Technology
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant Design and Technology disciplines
- Ability to inspire students through engaging practical and theoretical lessons
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
