Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are working with excellent schools in Sheffield to recruit Design and Technology Teacher. We welcome applications from innovative and committed educators who can deliver engaging lessons, develop practical skills, and encourage students to think creatively while solving real-world problems.

The Design and Technology Teacher role offers the opportunity to equip students with valuable technical knowledge, design skills, and the confidence to bring their ideas to life.

Responsibilities of D&T Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Develop students' practical, creative, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning
  • Prepare and supervise workshop activities while maintaining high health and safety standards
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and innovation
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning and departmental success

Requirements for DT Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Previous experience teaching Design and Technology within a secondary school is desirable
  • Strong subject knowledge across relevant Design and Technology disciplines
  • Ability to inspire students through engaging practical and theoretical lessons
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
