Computer Science Instructor – SEN School – Southend-on-Sea | Part-Time | ASAP or September Start | Education and Training

GSL Education are seeking a passionate and engaging Computer Science Instructor to join a welcoming SEN school in Southend-on-Sea. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver practical, engaging Computer Science and Computing lessons to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), and other complex learning needs.

The Role

As a Computer Science Instructor, you will:

  • Deliver engaging Computer Science, Computing, and ICT lessons using practical, interactive teaching methods
  • Teach programming, coding, computational thinking, digital literacy, online safety, and the responsible use of technology
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs, EHCP outcomes, and a wide range of SEND
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, independence, and engagement in learning
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, SENCOs, Therapists, Behaviour Mentors, and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Encourage pupils to develop valuable digital, problem-solving, and employability skills
  • Create a safe, structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed
  • Monitor and celebrate pupil progress, both academically and personally

What We're Looking For

  • Experience teaching, tutoring, instructing, or delivering Computer Science, Computing, or ICT
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for technology and education
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach
  • Computer Science Graduates, ICT Professionals, Tutors, Cover Supervisors, HLTAs, Teaching Assistants, Unqualified Teachers, and aspiring teachers are all encouraged to apply

Pay & Benefits

  • £100–£250 per day (depending on experience)
  • Part-time position with flexible working days
