Unqualified SEN Teacher – SEN School – Southend| ASAP or September Start | Full-Time or Part Time

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Unqualified SEN Teacher to join a welcoming SEN school in Southend. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, HLTAs, Cover Supervisors, Instructors, Learning Mentors, and graduates who are ready to lead learning and make a genuine difference to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), and other complex learning needs.
The Role
As an Unqualified SEN Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons with the support of the wider teaching team
- Adapt learning to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils with SEND
- Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils in developing their academic, social, emotional, and life skills
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, Therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute towards EHCP targets and individual learning outcomes
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Cover Supervisor, Instructor, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, or similar
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
- Graduates and aspiring teachers looking to gain valuable classroom experience are encouraged to apply
Pay & Benefits
- £100–£250 per day (depending on experience)
- ASAP or September start
