Job Title: Key Stage 2 Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are working with fabulous schools is Barnsley to appoint Key Stage 2 Teacher. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated educator who can deliver engaging lessons, raise pupil attainment, and create a positive learning environment where every child is encouraged to succeed.

The KS2 Teacher role offers an excellent opportunity to support pupils through an important stage of their primary education while preparing them for a successful transition to secondary school.

Key Stage 2 Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Assess progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a respectful, inclusive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support pupils' academic and personal development
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice

Key Stage 2 Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Previous experience teaching Key Stage 2 is desirable
  • Secure understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Ability to motivate pupils through creative and engaging lessons
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
