Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Sheffield
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are seeking a Sports Coach to join vibrant schools in Sheffield. We welcome applications from motivated individuals who can encourage active participation, promote positive behaviour, and use sport to help pupils develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
The Sports Coach is going support pupils' physical, social, and emotional development while creating engaging and enjoyable learning experiences.
Sports Coach Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver inclusive sports sessions that encourage participation and skill development
- Motivate pupils to develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience through physical activity
- Adapt coaching activities to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities
- Support teachers in promoting positive behaviour and student engagement
- Encourage healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes towards physical education
- Work alongside school staff to maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
Sports Coach Requirements:
- Previous experience in sports coaching, fitness instruction, or a related role is desirable
- Ability to motivate and engage children and young people through practical activities
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Positive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to working in schools
- Commitment to promoting wellbeing, participation, and personal development
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
