Speech and Language Therapist – SEN School
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist SEN school in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly supportive environment, helping children and young people develop their communication, language, and social interaction skills to reach their full potential.
You will support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language disorders, and developmental communication needs, delivering tailored interventions that enhance communication, learning, and participation across the school environment.
Key Responsibilities for Speech and Language Therapist
- Assess students' speech, language, and communication needs
- Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes and intervention plans
- Deliver direct and indirect speech and language therapy sessions
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, carers, and external professionals
- Provide strategies and training to school staff to support communication throughout the curriculum
- Contribute to a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to student support
Requirements for Speech and Language Therapist
- HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) is desirable
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally within an SEN setting
- Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills
- Passion for supporting students to develop confidence, independence, and communication skills
