Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Pay: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) for vibrant schools in Doncaster. The successful candidate will be caring, adaptable, and committed to providing tailored support that enables pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to reach their individual potential.
The SEN TA will have a rewarding opportunity to help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally while working within supportive and inclusive school environments.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to pupils' individual learning needs
- Assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and adapting classroom activities
- Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours
- Support the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to promote pupil progress
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
- Good understanding of inclusive learning practices and behaviour support strategies
- Ability to adapt support techniques to meet individual pupil needs
- Patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
