Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Rotherham
Pay: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are working with schools in Rotherham to appoint a Behaviour Support. We are seeking a resilient and compassionate person who can build strong relationships with pupils, encourage positive behaviour, and provide consistent support to help students overcome barriers to learning.
The Behaviour Support role gives you the opportunity to make a lasting difference by promoting confidence, resilience, and positive engagement in a supportive educational environment.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Encourage positive attitudes towards learning through consistent guidance and encouragement
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to improve student engagement
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to behaviour support plans where appropriate
- Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs is desirable
- Good understanding of positive behaviour management techniques
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Committed to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and positive educational outcomes
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
