Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Darlington
Pay: £475–£557 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle branch are looking to appoint Teaching Assistant (TA) for amazing schools in Darlington. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who can work closely with teachers, provide effective classroom support, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.

The TA is going to offer the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to pupils' academic, social, and emotional development while gaining valuable experience within supportive school settings.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation throughout the school day
  • Assist with preparing classroom resources and learning materials
  • Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and willing to adapt to different classroom environments
  • Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
