Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Location: Durham
Pay: £475–£557 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle branch are partnering with schools across Durham to recruit Level 3 Teaching Assistants. We are looking for proactive and dedicated individuals who can provide high-quality classroom support, encourage pupil engagement, and work collaboratively with teachers to create an inspiring learning environment.

The L3 Teaching Assistant role offers an excellent opportunity to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development while playing a vital part in their everyday learning experience.

Responsibilities of L3 TA:

  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups during lessons
  • Assist teachers with planning, preparing, and delivering engaging learning activities
  • Encourage pupils to participate confidently and achieve their learning objectives
  • Help monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive classroom environment
  • Support the wellbeing and safeguarding of all pupils throughout the school day

Level 3 Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent recognised qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people within an educational setting
  • Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other support staff
  • Good communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to supporting pupils' learning and development
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
