GSL Education Hull branch are currently recruiting for a motivated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to work across supportive educational settings in Scarborough and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience working with children and young people before progressing into careers such as Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Counselling, Social Work, or Mental Health Support. You will work alongside experienced education professionals, supporting students with a range of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs.

About the Role:

As a Psychology Graduate, you will provide classroom, pastoral, and individual support to students, helping them engage with learning and develop socially and emotionally. You may work with learners who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD, or other additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Psychology Graduate:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with additional learning or behavioural needs
  • Assist teachers in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Support learners' emotional wellbeing, confidence, and social development
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help implement individual support strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to promote student progress
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding and school policies

As the Ideal Psychology Graduate, You Should Have:

  • A degree in Psychology
  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people within education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to working with learners
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively within a team
  • Experience working with young people through education, volunteering, coaching, mentoring, or care settings is desirable

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
  • Have recent experience working with children or young people or transferable experience in a relevant setting
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
