Job Title: Chemistry Teacher
Location: Wakefield WF10
Pay: £150–£200 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are partnering with schools in Wakefield WF10 to appoint Chemistry Teacher. We welcome applications from passionate educators who can deliver engaging lessons, inspire scientific curiosity, and help students develop a strong understanding of chemical principles through both theory and practical work.
The Chemistry Teacher role is an excellent opportunity to encourage students to think critically, develop practical laboratory skills, and build confidence in science.
Chemistry Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Chemistry lessons that support curriculum objectives and student achievement
- Plan and supervise practical experiments while maintaining high laboratory safety standards
- Encourage students to apply scientific knowledge through investigation and problem-solving
- Assess learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback to support academic progress
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active participation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to departmental planning and development
Chemistry Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Previous experience teaching Chemistry within a secondary school is desirable
- Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering both practical and theoretical lessons
- Ability to motivate students through creative and engaging teaching approaches
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
