Job Title: Physics Teacher
Location: Wakefield WF16
Pay: £150–£200 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire branch are keen to appoint Physics Teacher to join a vibrant school in Wakefield WF16. The successful candidate will bring strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm for science, and the ability to make complex concepts accessible while encouraging curiosity and academic achievement.

The Physics Teacher will have the opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists by delivering high-quality lessons that develop analytical thinking, practical skills, and a genuine interest in physics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons that meet curriculum objectives
  • Demonstrate scientific principles through practical experiments and classroom investigations
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific enquiry
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Create a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes active participation
  • Contribute to departmental planning and collaborate with colleagues to enhance learning opportunities

Physics Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience teaching Physics within a secondary school setting is desirable
  • Secure understanding of the Physics curriculum and practical laboratory procedures
  • Ability to explain scientific concepts in an engaging and accessible way
  • Excellent classroom management and effective communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
