SEMH Teacher

Full-Time | Special School | September 2026 Start

GSL Education is seeking a committed and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a supportive Special School on a full-time basis from September 2026. We are looking for teachers from any subject specialism who are passionate about supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. In addition to this vacancy, we also have a variety of SEMH Teacher opportunities available across the surrounding boroughs.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging and adaptable lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. You will foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment while building strong, positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience, and personal growth.

The successful SEMH Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • The legal right to work in the UK – essential
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour, ideally within a specialist or alternative provision setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A patient, resilient, and flexible approach to teaching
