Job Title: SEN Support
Location: Middlesbrough
Pay: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle branch are working with inclusive schools in Middlesbrough to appoint SEN Support staff. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient, and committed to helping pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a supportive learning environment.

This role allows the Special Educational Needs Support to make a meaningful contribution by providing personalised support that helps pupils overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in their everyday school experience.

Responsibilities of SEN Support:

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of learning needs
  • Assist teaching staff in creating engaging and inclusive classroom experiences
  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours
  • Support the delivery of individual learning and behaviour plans where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals to promote pupil progress
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all learners

Requirements for SEN Support:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
  • Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual learning requirements
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to build positive relationships
  • Calm, resilient, and proactive approach when supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and positive educational outcomes
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
