Job Title: Youth Worker
Location: Sunderland
Pay: £95–£115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle branch are partnering with schools in Sunderland to recruit dedicated Youth Worker. We want a caring and resilient individual who can build positive relationships with students, encourage engagement, and provide valuable pastoral and emotional support throughout the school day.
The Youth Worker is going to make a meaningful difference by helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and trust
- Support pupils experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
- Work alongside teaching and pastoral teams to promote student wellbeing
- Deliver targeted interventions that encourage confidence and personal development
- Respond calmly to challenging situations while maintaining a supportive approach
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Youth Worker Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or community setting is desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively and build strong professional relationships
- Resilient approach with confidence supporting pupils facing additional challenges\Good understanding of safeguarding and promoting positive behaviour
- Passion for helping young people achieve positive outcomes
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
